  I had a meal alone, just a quick bite to eat. It was my first time dining here, and I was pleasantly surprised. The curry was delicious, the rice was great, and the bindhi was fresh and tasty. The prices were reasonable as well, and the food was served quickly. The decor was fine, though it’s not your traditional curry house layout; it’s larger and located in a more modern building. While this may slightly detract from the atmosphere, it didn’t bother me. I was there for the curry, and it was exactly what I wanted.

  Quality of food and authenticity has declined considerably. In last few orders food was not good and in last order it was awful. I ordered butter paneer it turned out to be so sweet, like a sweet dish. They replaced it with matter paneer it was sweet as well and amount of oil was horible it was more of an oil dish. Even after removing so much oil, curry was still full of oil. This used to be our regular place for food but I doubt I will ever be going back again

  Dear Team Hotel Raj, I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding multiple disappointing experiences we have had with your restaurant recently. Before 31 December, we placed a collection order for bhindi bhaji. We were very disappointed with the quantity provided. When we called the restaurant to raise our concern, we were told that you were “busy”. This response was unprofessional and not acceptable when a customer is raising a genuine issue. Then, on 31 December, our experience was even worse. We waited for more than one hour for a waiter to take our order. During this time, we approached three different staff members, and each of them said they would come, but no one did. We felt completely ignored while other customers were being served. As Indian customers, this behaviour felt discriminatory and extremely upsetting. We are regular customers of Hotel Raj, which makes these experiences even more disappointing. Being busy is not an excuse for poor service, lack of respect, or unequal treatment of customers. These incidents have left us feeling undervalued and disrespected. We request that this matter be taken seriously, staff behaviour be reviewed, and steps be taken to ensure fair and respectful service for all customers. We would appreciate an explanation and assurance that such experiences will not happen again. Sincerely, Neha Saraf

  Spent around £45 here and was disappointed. Papadums and chutney were charged separately (£3.50 for chutney), which wasn’t made clear, and in many restaurants these are complimentary. Ordered two special fried rice dishes but the portions were small and the taste was average. Overall, not good value for money.

  I took my son here after visiting the cinema. The food was very tasty and the service was spot on. We had a curry, rice, naan and a drink each. A shade under £50 including the service charge.
