1. About these Terms
These Terms form a binding agreement between you and the Operator. They apply alongside our Privacy Policy and any country-specific notices displayed on the Service. We may update the Terms from time to time; the current version is always the one published on this page, and your continued use of the Service after a change becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or in-product notice where reasonably possible.
2. Definitions
"Visitor" means any person who accesses the Service without signing in. "User" means a registered account holder. "Restaurant Owner" means a User who has claimed and been granted control of a Restaurant Listing. "Restaurant Listing" means the public profile of a halal-serving establishment shown on the Service. "Premium Subscription" means a paid plan that unlocks additional features for a Restaurant Listing. "Content" means any text, photos, ratings, reviews, opening hours, menus, links, or other material submitted to or displayed on the Service.
3. The Service
Restaurant-Halal.com is a discovery platform: it lets diners search, filter, and read about restaurants that serve halal food across the supported countries. It is not a booking platform, not a food-delivery service, and not a halal-certification body. Where you see a "Order on Uber Eats", "Deliveroo", "Just Eat" or similar button, you are being linked to a third-party platform; any order you place is subject to that platform's own terms, pricing, and delivery conditions, and the Operator is not party to that transaction.
4. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher) to create an account. When you register, you agree to provide accurate information and to keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account. We may suspend or close accounts that have been inactive for an extended period, that violate these Terms, or where we are required to do so by law.
5. Reviews, photos and other user content
You retain ownership of any Content you submit. By submitting Content, you grant the Operator a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sub-licensable licence to host, store, reproduce, translate, publish, and display that Content on the Service and in marketing for the Service, for as long as the Content is publicly available on the Service or, where reasonably necessary, after its removal for backup, legal, or moderation purposes. You promise that the Content you submit is accurate, lawful, your own (or properly licensed), and does not infringe any third-party rights. We may, at our discretion, refuse, edit, or remove Content that breaches these Terms, that is misleading, defamatory, abusive, or that we are required to remove under applicable law. Reviews must reflect a genuine personal experience; paid, incentivised, or fake reviews are prohibited and may result in account termination.
6. Restaurant listings and ownership
Restaurant Listings may be created by us, by users, or by Restaurant Owners themselves. Anyone who is the legitimate operator of a restaurant may submit a "Claim Restaurant" request to take control of the corresponding Listing; we will verify the request before granting access, and we may reject or revoke a claim where we have reasonable doubts about its legitimacy. A Restaurant Owner is responsible for keeping the Listing accurate — including address, opening hours, halal information, photographs, delivery links, and contact details — and must hold all rights necessary to publish that material. The Operator may correct, edit, hide, or unpublish a Listing at any time, including where it appears to be inaccurate, duplicate, closed, fraudulent, or in breach of these Terms.
7. Halal information — important notice
Restaurant-Halal.com is a directory and does not certify, audit, or guarantee that any restaurant is halal. Halal indicators displayed on a Listing — including badges, halal-verified flags, descriptive text, and certifying-body references — are submitted by the restaurant or by users and are reproduced for informational purposes only. You should always confirm halal status, certification, supply chain, alcohol service, and cross-contamination risks directly with the restaurant before ordering, especially if you have strict religious, dietary, or allergen requirements. The Operator accepts no liability for inaccurate, outdated, or disputed halal information published on the Service.
9. Third-party services and links
The Service contains links to third-party websites, apps, and services, including delivery platforms (such as Uber Eats, Deliveroo, Just Eat), social networks, and mapping providers. These third parties have their own terms and privacy policies, and the Operator does not control and is not responsible for their content, availability, pricing, fees, delivery times, refund policies, or any transaction you enter into with them. Following an outbound link is at your own discretion.
10. Intellectual property
The Service, its design, source code, trademarks, logos, original copy, structured data, and the database of curated listings are protected by intellectual property laws and remain the property of the Operator or its licensors. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for your own personal or internal business use. You must not copy, scrape, reproduce, redistribute, sell, sublicense, reverse-engineer, or build a competing product from any part of the Service or its underlying database without our prior written consent. Restaurant logos, photos and brand assets shown on the Service belong to their respective owners and are reproduced under fair-use, owner-submitted, or licensed terms; if you believe a Listing infringes your rights, please contact us.
11. Prohibited uses
You agree not to: (a) violate any applicable law or regulation; (b) impersonate any person or entity, including misrepresenting your relationship with a restaurant; (c) post Content that is unlawful, hateful, discriminatory, defamatory, obscene, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable; (d) submit fake, paid, or incentivised reviews, or manipulate ratings; (e) interfere with the security or integrity of the Service, attempt to access non-public areas, probe for vulnerabilities, or bypass rate limits; (f) scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service except via mechanisms we explicitly provide; (g) use the Service to send unsolicited communications, spam, or malware; (h) use automated tools to create accounts, claims, reviews, or interactions; or (i) use the Service in any way that could harm minors.
12. Service availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service available 24/7 but do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure access. We may suspend or restrict access for maintenance, upgrades, security, or operational reasons, and we may add, modify, or discontinue features at any time. Where reasonably possible we will give advance notice of significant changes affecting paid features.
13. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including (without limitation) warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or that any defects will be corrected. We do not warrant that information on the Service — including halal status, opening hours, prices, menus, or contact details — is current, complete, or correct.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Operator and its directors, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, business opportunities, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us, if any, in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred euros (€100). Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including liability for fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Operator, its affiliates, and their respective officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your breach of these Terms, your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
16. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service or close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account or any Listing, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, if continued provision would expose us or other users to legal or safety risk, or if required by law. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately; provisions that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will survive.
17. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any non-waivable rights you have as a consumer in your country of residence, any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you may also access the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time by posting an updated version on this page and updating the "Last updated" date above. Where the change is material we will give reasonable advance notice. By continuing to use the Service after the effective date, you accept the revised Terms; if you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.
