We’ve been to Mowgli on several occasions. This particular lunch was a birthday gift. One of us ordered the vegan menu, and my partner and I ordered the sharing menu. All three of us loved our food. As usual, the chaat bombs were amazing little bursts of flavour. Everything was flavourful although the prawn curry deserves a special mention. The restaurant was fairly quiet but it was Monday lunchtime. One thing I really like about Mowgli is the decor. It’s so pretty and the twinkling lights really add to the charm. The service was friendly and efficient. The only tiny disappointment was the lack of salted caramel ice cream, as the menu had promised - my favourite! A minor detail. We’ll just have to come back!

Beautiful setting, loved the fairy lights. The waiter was really friendly and helpful. We went for the sharing menu which was a great way to try 3 different currys you also get rice, roti and vegetables. You also get chat bombs and fenugreek potatoes and for desert a scoop of the best salted caramel ice cream ive ever had. There are plenty of vegetarian options too. I would describe the food as authentic and very flavoursome. Just one thing to note is that as you walk in you are asked "still or spring" and we said still. Water came over promptly which we were charged £4.60 for. I do feel annoyed at this as it felt a bit underhand. That said we were advised at the point of asking for the bill that there was an optional £1 charity donation and a 10% service charge which we were happy to pay . Would definitely recommend Mowgli

I loved my first experience with Mowgli Oxford. Our server was very softly spoken which was difficult since I’m rather deaf but he was just shy and quite sweet - and his service was efficient and good. I fell in love with the atmosphere - lights everywhere and very evocative; it was very beautiful. We had the special menu - the sharer deal for two. It comes with the yoghurt bombs (amazing) and something else which escapes my memory; but everything was delicious. We opted for the black dhal (exceptional and insanely moreish), the prawn curry and the goan fish curry which was both delicious. It also came with rice, two flatbreads and ice cream. Everything was so delicious and some really innovative and surprising tastes - all welcome surprises, not unnerving ones! Very much looking forward to our next jaunt here.

Great chats - traditional bhel, dahi-puri and some innovations of their own (Diwali Cauliflower) .. amazing side dishes we ordered temple Daal, picnic potato curry) with rice. Very authentic - reminded of food back in Kathiawar.

We arrived a little early, but the staff immediately looked after us. We were even asked if we wanted any still or sparkling water before we were shown to our table. The waiting staff were really lovely, friendly and well presented. Then the food… never lets us down… SUPERB! Well worth our train journey in from Banbury!
