Maray is often recommended as one of the best Sunday roasts in Manchester, so we had to give it a try. It’s certainly a bit different, with some subtle spice worked into the veg. Slightly controversial territory, given most Brits only welcome salt and pepper anywhere near their roast vegetables — but I actually quite liked the twist. The gravy deserves its own mention. The roast arrived with a decent splash already applied, which I appreciated, and then I was handed my own jug of gravy to top up as needed. Gravy is a serious subject when it comes to roasts — particularly up north — and having full control of the jug gave me a real sense of comfort and authority over proceedings. Both meats were generous and well cooked, and at £23 for the beef, it’s pretty much the going rate for Manchester these days. The restaurant has a fresh, clean vibe, and service was quick and helpful throughout. With that said, it doesn’t quite crack my top 5 in Manchester — competition is fierce. Everything came out slightly on the cooler side, which knocked a few points off for me. I’m sure that’s more the exception than the norm, but it did take a bit of the edge off. Verdict: A solid, slightly different roast that’s worth trying if you’re on the Sunday roast trail.

Went to Maray after about a year. Still a nice spot but It felt like it used to be better. The rump and the pan fried coley were quite nice. We also had the monkfish tail, but I don’t think it paired very well with the peppercorn sauce.

Came here to celebrate my partners bday and make use of their jan vegan offer - definitely worth the visit ! Got the falafel sharer plate, disco cauliflower, and the sweet potato. All were gorgeous and yummy. Definitely worth the hype for the cauliflower, beautifully cooked and a divine sauce (would recommend ordering additional pita just to mop it up). Falafel sharer is great for two, a stretch for three, and has a nice good mix of the general vibe of all the small plates for a "sample" of what they offer. Finished off with the vegan ganche, very very rich and smooth. Luxurious and very indulgent - would reccomend sharing if you don't have a sweet tooth

We truly enjoyed our meal at Maray. It was our first visit and we were impressed! The food was so flavorful, we tried about 6 dishes and they were all great. But what stood out was the shared mezze . The goats cheese was smooth and slightly sweet, the olives were juicy and the za'alok bursting with flavour. The cocktails were well balanced and nicely presented. Our waiter, Morgan, was so pleasant and genuinely helpful . The atmosphere was chilled and classy without being pretentious. The music was spot on,not too loud so we could have a conversation. We will definitely be back .

Such an incredible experience from the service, the atmosphere, and especially the food. Firstly the staff are attentive, friendly, and professional. The restaurant is exceptionally clean, decorated beautifully, and is such a breathe of fresh air - cosy yet spacious. A very welcome space from the bustling streets outside. Most importantly the food: what an experience it is to eat at Maray Manchester. The quality of the ingredients, the presentation, the flavours, the effort put into each and every dish on the menu is just exceptional. The roast dinner flavours are absolutely exquisite. It's not just a meal it is a full on experience of flavours and textures. From the oversized Yorkshire puddings to the parsnip puree base, it's safe to say the Roast dinner had our table silenced. Food so good you forget you're at a restaurant. The desserts are the perfect way to round off the show, a bread and butter pudding that has you scraping the plate, and a season special - a delicious Bara Brith with additional hints of caramel, Guinness, and rum flavours. It's nothing short of a masterpiece: personal and comforting. From every point in dining at Maray you can feel the passion from every person behind the scenes. Thank you to the staff, and to the chefs that work so hard. It is an absolute pleasure to dine here, and I'm already planning my return.
