  We haven’t had a decent Indian meal for a while and Tamatanga didn’t break the cycle. It’s Sunday evening, we can’t be bothered to cook and we can’t be bothered to get all dressed up either. We parked in the Highcross car park for £2.50 and decided to choose a restaurant from the many situated on shires lane. Don’t get me wrong, the food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t excellent either. We had a sharing platter with some sides of Tame fries. There were tiny popadoms, a mini naan, a small rice and 5 little dishes of food and 2 smaller dishes of sauce. See pictures! The food was ok but this is not a sharing platter and we came home still hungry. The service was good and the price wasn’t bad. Including drinks and a tip, the bill was £38. But I could have made a better version at home for a fraction of the price and I’m not a chef! I guess you pay the £19 each for the privilege of not washing up and cooking it yourself lol. It’s a nice venue for a work do or a family night out, but nothing romantic!

  The lunch deal is a good deal and it's a full meal without any extra order. The food was delicious and quick. The staff were friendly, too. The things I prefer them do it differently - you can't order 1 nan/extra, the price is for 2 so it's a bit too much - they put the tip included in the bill, with explanation in the end. In general, I like the food and the services

  Great place to come for drinks especially for happy hour. Good food too. The cheese bites are perfect! The curries are tasty and they give generous portions.

  The food was good and the service was nice. There was a fault with the food, yet they handled it semi-professionally. They said they were going to take it off the tab, yet we were charged for the other replacement portion. I am always happy to pay for the food I eat though. What really affected the atmosphere was mainly that we had someone with a bright hand held light flashing towards. Also when ordering the peshwari naan, I found it hit and miss as some had too much filling ruining the bread and others had a good amount. The safer option would be the plain naan.

  We had a lovely meal at Tamatanga for Valentine’s Day. Amelia was really friendly & helpful with us choosing the food. I Would definitely recommend the Tamatanga Salmon for fish lovers.
