overall experience: 4/5 food: 4/5 service: 10/5 atmosphere: 5/5 highlights: our server, cami, was phenomenal. this was my husband’s and my first valentine’s day in person, as we’ve spent 85% of our relationship as long distance lovers on different continents. we told this to cami as we were celebrating valentine’s day on the 13th. he went above and beyond for us, brought us a lovely dessert at the end of our meal with a congratulations chocolate on it, as well as a complimentary champagne flute for me. i was truly taken aback by how kind, attentive, and generous he was! little did he know that my husband and i have yet to be able to afford to go on a honeymoon, so we spent this valentine’s day / week doing a mini moon staycation in edinburgh. cami made our entire night with how lovely he was! the food is expensive for what it is, but the flavours were all so good. definitely a lovely little date night spot. we ended up with a large bill due to how delicious and unavoidable the cocktails were. overall, we’d definitely come back for the ambiance, the service, and the food! just maybe once or twice a year, as it is a pretty penny. thanks again cami!

We stayed at Kimpton and Baba was the restaurant attached to the hotel. Food was delicious! Highly recommend the babaganoush and muhammara! The grilled shrimp from the "pan fried cod cheeks, prawns, merguez and butterbeans with toasted pitta" dish was also delicious! The only dish we didn't like was the cauliflower shawarma, but overall had a great dinner here. Would definitely come back and try more dishes next time!

The best! We came here by the recommendation of our hotel staff and we were stunned… Not usually for the levantine style cuisine but we couldn’t believe what we got. The food was all perfect, just enough of everything and the staff was so helpfull and nice. Special regards to Matilda and Cameron, exepcional service and very cosy atmosphere!

Just finished a great dinner at Baba. Firstly, the service was first rate. Our server Lucy was super friendly, knowledge and attentive but never intrusive. The food came out quickly but we weren't ever rushed. And the food was very, very good. The mezze was inventive and delicious with the cherry harrisa mozzarella and the Baba ganoush being standouts for me. The lamb and haggis skewers were also super tasty. The chicken thighs with batata hara were also absolutely delicious but I would've loved to see them presented whole instead of chopped into small pieces. The desert of tahini cookie was rich and indulgent but not too sweet and lifted by wee nuggets of orange to cut through the nutty goodness. We paid around £175 for 3 diners which is great value considering we each had two alcoholic drinks and a dessert as well as the set "favourites" menu with with an added Baba ganoush for good measure. We will definitely be back soon.

Would really recommend this place to anyone! We shared the babaganoush, cod cheeks, lamb and cauliflower - all super delicious! The staff members were all very friendly and the vibe of the restaurant was lovely. I want to particularly highlight the tahini cookie we had for dessert, absolutely amazing!
