It's a Nandos, you can't really go wrong with it. It's a shame to see how expensive it is nowadays though, and alternatives such as Pepe's are arguably better value. This location in particular is good however, and the staff are nice, service was quick and the food was cooked properly. Portion sizes were also very good unlike some Nandos who believe you should pay 10p for each rice grain.

No longer table service which is a shame, food was good apart from brocoli ( I love a bit of Al dente) however this was raw, my father also said same. I was offered replacement however by the time it would have cooked I'd would have already finished the meal.

Really good food. The service was fast. Atmosphere at this place is great as it's an old building. The kids loved their meals.

I have been in Nando’s up and down this country and always had a pleasant experience. However on entering this Nando’s I immediately felt out of place, as it seemed to be being run by a bunch of students. After ordering our food, I requested two glasses and I took them back to the table and I asked my partner to get the drinks whilst I went to the bathroom, when I came back to the table he had got himself a Coke and me a water as that’s what I wanted. After waiting over 20 minutes for 2 simple meals, and watching them keep putting sauce on it under the headlamp, the manager brought the dishes over. I didn’t get her name but she was short and what I can only describe as wide. She puts the food down quite rudely and says that by the way you are paying for that Coke! My partner is autistic and has social anxiety so he didn’t know what to do, and wouldn’t engage. So I went and paid for the coke, however when ordering the food we wasn’t told which drinks we could or couldn’t get as this had never happened to us in a Nando’s before. The way she conducted herself was disgusting and made us feel like criminals for drinking a syrupy watered down Coke and talking to other staff whilst staring at us. Before we had finished they took the plates straight away which made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. All in all the Nando’s was the worst one I’ve ever stepped foot in and I won’t be back. But I will be contacting head office to make a complaint about the manager.

It's been 2 years since I last added a review on Google, regarding Chester store. I'm glad that Nandos have listened in terms of speed and efficiency when it comes to serving customers arriving and speed of clearing tables...however...there is a hygiene issue. My first impression when I was seated was the mess on the seats - staff had clearly wiped the tables, but it seems that any bits of food was pushed from the tables and fell onto the seats, which was a sight for sore eyes. Other issues including cold plates and stained cutlery - we had a sharing platter and the plate was nice and hot, our plates that we collected were stone cold. I don't know how long they had been left out, but obviously it's been some time. The cutlery didn't fair better as well...it seems they had been washed, but we're left to dry on its own accord, leaving chemical and water stains on them. Thankfully, there was a member of staff around who was able to polish these. What's with the music atmosphere? Being in the cove section of the restaurant, it was too loud and your restaurant was playing African beats...last time I heard was that Nando's was Portuguese restaurant chain...has this since changed? I understand that these issues raised is not just a local restaurant problem, but it's a problem with all Nando's restaurants and it does need addressing. I'm sure it won't stop me from going to any Nando's restaurant to enjoy the food as a rare treat, regardless of the escalating cost pricing involved
