    We loved our dinner here in the old cave! Served by Francesco who was lovely and smiley, and we enjoyed hearing about his ties to Matera. The food was fresh and some of the best we have had in Italy. We had a traditional Matera dish which was such an incredible thing to try while seated inside the old cave home. Our only wish would be to add in a pasta dish - in addition to their soups - for these cooler autumn/winter nights.

    Pricey, but expected for its prime location in the heart of the Sassi. We were struggling to find a spot for coffee with a view until we discovered this gem. A very sophisticated, upmarket café with high-quality ingredients and professional staff. The furnishings are stylish and elegant, creating a lovely atmosphere. I was bracing for a sky-high bill, but it was very reasonable. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and really enjoyed the vibe

    Prob the best place I’ve been to in Matera (that is not a fancy restaurant) to a point we came here twice - very relaxed & chill vibes, really delicious meals, and friendly staff. It’s also open all day, so you can go for nibbles or food at any time. We basically tried almost all the dishes here. All of them were sooo delicious, and by far the best peperoni cruschi I’ve had in Matera & the desserts were divinely.
