This place was really good. We arrived a little before opening, and, to our surprise, they opened right on time - not necessarily a given post siesta! Upon arrival we were welcomed by the friendly host and seated right away. The tables are these cute booth style seating. While very cute, they’re also very tight - really designed for two people. I sat next to my young kiddo and we both found it somewhat uncomfortable. The seats are also quite shallow which made me feel like I was sitting at the end of my seat (I’m an average height guy ~6 ft). The restaurant was beautiful and felt like you had stepped into an old Moroccan bazaar. Really great balance of tradition and culture without being too tacky. After asking a few questions about the menu to manage dietary restrictions, we landed on the humus, babaganoush, chicken tagine and chicken couscous. Both the hummus and babaganoush were served with a pita bread. They were both solid. Flavors were on point. My one observation, and this could be due to Moroccan preparation, was the hummus was a bit thinner than most hummus. So while flavor was great consistency was a bit off to me. The main dishes were both wonderful. The chicken tagine was a generous portion, great for sharing. Two chicken drumsticks with a ton of veggies and fruits cooked to perfection that the meat fell off the bones. The sauce was tasty and well spiced. The couscous was similarly generous two drum sticks buried under a mountain of couscous and topped with a

My partner and I went to this lovely Moroccan restaurant for supper tonight, and I was immediately struck by how wonderful the atmosphere was. The food was really great, and the staff was really kind and the service was excellent. I heartily endorse this undiscovered treasure.

Truly an extraordinary authentic place. It looks a bit simple from the outside, but the interior is very romantic and beautifully designed. Every corner has a different detail, meaning, and object. They use huge candles from the 1890s on every table—this is a huge plus. And the service was excellent. There was service of a quality you wouldn’t expect in an Arab restaurant. Besides being halal, the food was very tasty. Especially the hummus and something like a börek. You must try them. I definitely recommend it. Go and eat—you’ll love it.

Everything was amazing. The service from the start was intimate and polite. The owner provided us with suggestions on what to order and delivered everything on time and perfectly. Would recommend to all families and freinds! The food was tasteful. Ambience was calm and relaxing. Would suggest booking in advance as it is quite a small restaurant, but definitely worth the visit.

Al-Yamal transports you to the heart of Morocco with its authentic and flavorful dishes. My meal began with a complimentary olive appetizer, followed by a delightful hummus and baba ghanoush, all served with warm pita bread. Each dip was perfectly seasoned, offering a vibrant introduction to the culinary experience. The main course was a symphony of textures and tastes. The tender chicken skewers were cooked to perfection, retaining their juicy tenderness. The beef tagine was a delight, the meat meltingly soft and infused with a rich, aromatic broth and dry fruits and almonds. The lamb tagine, accompanied by fluffy couscous, was another highlight, showcasing the depth of Moroccan spices. The unique aroma of this dish comes from the radishes in the broth, which can sometimes be mistaken for spoilage. However, this is not the case. Overall, my experience at Al-Yamal was a true delight. The food was exceptional, the service attentive, and the atmosphere warm and inviting. If you're seeking an authentic Moroccan culinary adventure in Malaga, I highly recommend giving Al-Yamal a try.
