  The "spaghettoni cozze, vongole e bottarga" were very good. The "Polpo alla Luciana" was not polpo alla Luciana at all: it was boiled then grilled then covered with a red an a green sauce, tasting embarassingly like tomato ketchup. While not bad in itself, no comparison with the real Neapolitan octopus stew recipe. The waiters were nice, but service was slow, hence the three stars: it is true there happened to be a large group of people, but I ordered beforevthey sat down, and I ordered my whole meal together, in one shot, so as to give the kitchen a chance. Also, you don't expect octopus to start stewing when you order, it should have been ready-made, so why the delay? All in all sufficient, but overpriced.

  Quality of food and service were great but, I ordered the shrimp as a main and there were three small shrimp for €26!!! Also, I ordered a glass of red wine and it was definitely spoiled. Everything else was delicious, the squid, the pizza and cocktails were great :)

  We absolutely loved the menu' at Mate Catanzaro. Every single thing we had was delicious. A perfect mix of flavours from the sea and earth. The risotto carnaroli " aironi " gambero viola, nduja e zeste di limone was incredible! I’ve been to many similar restaurants, but this one truly stands out. The attention to detail and commitment to guest service set it apart from the rest.

  They do not serve what the menu promises but charge the full price. Disappointing.
